I felt really nervous and excited at the same time. I had never tried on a wedding gown before and I was unsure what to expect. I was nervous incase I didn't like any of the styles or that they wouldn't suit me. I need not have worried as I was in great hands.
When I first stepped into the boutique I was greeted by Heather. All my initial nerves disappeared as she made me feel so comfortable. I thought the boutique looked magical. It's just what I imagined a wedding boutique would look like.
I always loved the look of A-line gowns, every time I searched on the internet, I seemed to prefer A-line styles. I just wasn't sure this style would suit me as I have a petite frame. I also knew I wanted a dress that people wouldn't forget without it being too garish.
Heather asked me how I wanted to feel on the big day, I thought this was a very good question which I had never asked myself before. Heather ran through a consultation with me before she selected a few gowns that she thought I would like. Although I picked out a few too, I fell in love with the one Heather picked out for me.
I was really impressed with Heather's knowledge and professionalism, she really knows all you need to know about wedding gowns. I don't know how best to explain the service, as its above any I have received. I felt throughout my bridal journey that I was part of the Y.A.P team, as they show a real interest in your forthcoming day. Anne the seamstress and Danni were also fantastic, and were there for my fitting appointments.
I knew before the dress was even buttoned up that it was the one. It just looked how I had imagined my dream dress. It made me feel like a true bride and I got the 'feeling' everyone tells you about. I felt amazing and really didn't want to take it off, I was too busy twirling around the boutique.
Where do I start, from start to finish it was fantastic. I really looked forward to every appointment, mainly because the Y.A.P girls are brilliant. They make you feel like the only bride in the world.
My shoes were from irregular choice and my veil I purchased in store at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique - it looked so different from anything I had seen before I just had to have it. I accessorised my dress with a belt also from the boutique.
As soon as I put it on I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and show it off.
My wedding was held at As You Like It. We wanted a laid back wedding day, shared with friends and family.
For our colour scheme we chose pale pinks and browns to go with our rustic theme.
For our flowers we chose Floristry by Jill Lilley, we wanted to choose as many local businesses as we could along with our photographer: Northumbrian photography all based in our home town. The Big Event worked on my hair and makeup on the day.
Huge Thanks to the beautiful Faye for sharing her journey with us all and to Northumbrian Photography for capturing these gorgeous images xXx
