Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns...

I was so excited to go and try on a few dresses that I had previously seen at a wedding fair on the Y.A.P stand, where I first met Jo and Danni. I had it in my head I was only going to try them on to get a better understanding of what style I wanted and I wasn’t buying my dress that day - little did I know what was going to happen, but what I did know was that with my Mam, my Auntie and my two bridesmaids going it was going to be an emotional day.

On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts...

I first visited Y.A.P at the former boutique and for me I loved it straight away as it had that warm intimate feel and as soon as I walked in and met the Y.A.P girls they instantly made me feel welcome. Danni made me feel comfortable straight away. When I sat down and took it all in I got this warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach – and that’s when I knew I was going to find my dress within the boutique!

Your Style Ideas...

I had previously seen a Maggie Sottero dress that I loved but I really liked all of her designs. I knew I wanted to feel elegant and have some detail or lace on the dress. But apart from that I loved everything that I was looking at online or in magazines! So I thought I was going to be a nightmare for the Y.A.P girls!

Your Consultation to Finding the One...

I really could not have asked for more from Danni. She was absolutely amazing, I felt like she totally understood what styles I wanted, but we also agreed to put me in a style of dress which I hadn’t picked out to get a clear idea of what I wanted.

Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received...

Danni is fabulous at her job, she truly is one of the nicest people you could possibly meet. From the moment I met her I instantly felt like I had known her for years. She made me feel very welcome every time I visited the boutique. I would recommend Y.A.P to all brides who plan on getting married as the Y.A.P girls are fantastic!

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’...

I don’t know how to explain it, but you just know when you’ve found ‘The One’! Compared to everything else I tried on that day, this was just the perfect dress for me, it made me feel like a total princess.

Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…

Danni, Jo, Anne and all the other Y.A.P girls, they made the whole experience for me totally stress free. Every time I was in the boutique they made me feel very welcome. I knew all the time I was in good hands. The service I received I can’t even put into words, it was just incredible.

Tell us more about your day...

• ACCESSORIES

My veil I purchased from Y.A.P Bridal Boutique.

I really struggled to find the hairband I wanted, so I thought I would pop into Y.A.P one night after work to see what hair accessories they had and as soon as Danni showed me their headpieces I found exactly what I was looking for.

My shoes were from Dune and my jewellery was my something borrowed from my Mam, it was her jewellery which she wore on her wedding day and my something old was my Great Grandmas ‘engagement ring.

• FEELINGS

I felt absolutely stunning and l felt like a total princess

• VENUE

The wedding service was at a local church called St Josephs, we both knew we wanted a traditional catholic church wedding service and that church meant a lot to me. We knew that’s where we were going to get married.

Our wedding reception was held at Lumley Castle, with it being literally on our door step this was just the perfect location for all family and friends; and it had that medieval/castle theme which is the style we were after. The kind of wedding I wanted was for all my guests to have a lovely day and to have a good time. I wanted everyone to let their hair down and really enjoy themselves.

• DETAILS

I chose a dark berry shade for my bridesmaids and the younger bridesmaids wore gold sparkly dresses.

• SUPPLIERS

Our hair was styled by my local hairdressers - Lucy and Lauren who work at Strands. My friend Paige did our make up. They did a great job on both and it was exactly how myself and the girls wanted it.

Carro of Wynyard photography captured our day. Our chosen florist was Caroline from Bloomingbelles based in Morpeth, the flowers were out of this world, Caroline totally got the colours perfect for that time of year.

My wedding cake was made by IceNEasy.
