Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns...
I was really excited to visit Y.A.P, as I had heard how amazing and special the service and experience is through numerous brides that I have worked with.
On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts...
I thought that the boutique looked welcoming and homely and there was so many gowns to pick from. Being related to Danni and knowing Jo through work I felt relaxed before even arriving at the boutique, knowing I was in safe hands.
Your Style Ideas...
I knew I wanted my gown to be beaded and lace, but in a laid back style not too structured.
Your Consultation to Finding the One...
It was an amazing first experience, I loved how I got the chance to select a few dresses, but then I left Danni to pick some out for me as she knows my style so well and is so experienced in bridal wear. This helped me to realise the looks I liked and didn’t like. I felt like Danni cared about my day not only on a personal level but also on a professional level… she had a real interest in matching everything together with the kind of day we were planning.
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received...
The service I received from the beginning until my wedding day was impeccable. The team at Y.A.P made me and my family feel welcome at every appointment. They really have a passion for what they are doing and this shines through.
How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’...
When I chose my dream dress it felt amazing. It was everything I had been thinking of in my mind. I wanted my dress to stand out and look different to anything I had seen before and as soon as the beaded shoulder piece for the top of my gown arrived, I was overwhelmed by how much I loved it and it completed my dress perfectly.
Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…
My Y.A.P journey was a delight, I looked forward to all of my appointments and loved even more than that my Y.A.P ladies were there with me as a part of my wedding day. Joanne and Danni are such wonderful people and really make the whole experience feel special.

• ACCESSORIES •
My veil was the first thing I picked from Y.A.P. It was perfect, I had the veil altered at Y.A.P with their seamstress Anne - so that I could take the veil off leaving the beaded headpiece on it’s own – such a clever idea. This worked perfectly during my wedding day, as I could easily take it off for the evening time and then pop it back on for photos.
• FEELINGS •
I felt amazing and got so many lovely comments about how beautiful my dress was and how different it looked. I couldn’t imagine having any other type of dress now, it was perfect for my wedding day.
• VENUE •
My wedding was held at Natural Retreats, in Richmond. It was a laid back wedding, where all of our guests stayed in log cabins for two nights and we had a marquee and tipi on the grounds. We wanted our wedding to feel like a celebration and that it did, we partied for 2 days and had great fun!
• DETAILS •
We chose our theme to be rustic glamour, we wanted our wedding to be laid back, festival style, but also wanted part of our wedding to feel sophisticated so chose a deep navy blue theme, with gold sequins to give the room some glam, but kept the rustic feel by having lots of fresh flowers and logs in the centre of the tables.
• SUPPLIERS •
We chose Lee Scullion to be our photographer, Lee was great fun throughout our wedding weekend, he made us laugh, but also captured our day perfectly, there isn’t a thing he didn’t capture from our weekend, a true perfectionist! We also had Dan from Shoot Me Now Films to capture our day on video, Dan was lovely to work with, he kept himself in the shadows and I didn’t even realise that things were being filmed a lot of the time, but then when the video trailer came back it is just stunning and he really has captured the feel for our day perfectly.
Myself, the bridesmaids and my mum were beautified by the amazing Lisa Jones hair and Make up, she was a legend on the morning. So talented at both hair and make up and made it all look so easy and no rush at all.
We chose Bels flowers for our flowers, bouquets, button holes etc. Helen is a truly talented florist, she made our wedding looked beautiful with flower arches, hanging flower arrangements and table flowers. She was a joy to work with and I would highly recommend her. We also used The Finishing Touch Company for our prop hire and furniture hire. Charlotte helped to style our wedding perfectly. The overall look of the marquee was stunning; she really has a talented of hearing your vision and making it happen. We also had some chair signs made by Forever Detail, these were great for not only added something special to our wedding, but we now how these on our wall at home too!
Our cake table was created by The Master Cake Smith, again Dawn was a pleasure to work with and all the cake was scrumptious!! The caterers were Sheer Elegance catering and the food was faultless, we also had Bar4Hire for the drinks. The tipi and vintage marquee were supplied by The Unique Tent Company. Music was provided by AMV live music, we had Jessica Avison for the day time drinks and Blue House Band for the evening, both were great, with a lot of people complementing their talent.
Last but not least, myself and Ross work in the wedding industry, so supplied of course a Snaparazzi Photobooth to capture everyone’s photos on the evening and eventually get our own photo guestbook! We also supplied a lot of illuminated props from my company Coco Luminaire. It would be of been rude not to have lit up our own wedding ;)
What an amazing pair of lovebirds - Thank youfor featuring your bridal journey and letting us showcase your big day... it was an absolute honour to be part of your preperations and be there by your sides as you celebrated! Absolutely exquisite photography courtesy of the talented Lee Scullion.
