How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?

I was really apprehensive about finding the perfect dress it’s not something you normally shop for!

On arriving at our boutique what were your initial thoughts?

I couldn’t believe it when I entered the YAP boutique and saw how many different styles of dresses there was – I thought my mother was going to pass out with excitement! The minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome with hugs from Jo!

Did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?

I was sat down and asked to complete a questionnaire on the type of dress I wanted, which helped the team to pick out my dream dress. This was the first time I had felt like someone was actually interested in what I wanted and cared about helping me, so I knew I was in the right place.

Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown?

Before my appointment I thought I would be very limited to the style of dress I could choose due to my small frame but the team picked out a dress for me that was nothing like what I had imagined! They choose a perfect style that was just so me. I loved it from the moment I saw it!

How did you find the service from start to finish?

The team were always lovely and helpful whenever I telephoned or went to the shop. The excitement and kindness that radiates from the boutique immediately makes you forget all of the wedding stress you have and allows you to truly enjoy the experience of choosing a dress. I really cannot fault the service they provide. Ann the seamstress was absolutely amazing too. Being a perfectionist I had decided to have a brace on my teeth before the wedding, which unfortunately meant that I lost quite a bit of weight after my initial fitting. I had nothing to worry about though as Ann ensured my gown fitted me perfectly. She also came on the big day to help me put it on, I definately could not have done without her.

Where did you find the perfect accessories for your gown? Shoes, Veil, Hair accessories?

Jo and the team also helped me pick out a stunning light gold veil and hair comb to match the gown too. I teamed the outfit with a pair of blue Jimmy Choo sandals as I have always wanted a pair and needed my ‘something blue’!

How did you feel wearing your amazing gown on your wedding day?

I kept my dress a secret from everyone except my mother so everyone was really shocked when they saw that it was gold! All of my guests commented on how beautiful and different my dress was and I felt a million dollars wearing it. I didn’t want to ever take it off! We had a fantastic day with our families and friends and we partied until the end... a few of my guests said that they had never seen a bride dance so much – I loved swooshing about in my dress!

Where was your wedding held and what kind of day did you want?

We were married at Close House Hotel in Northumberland on Saturday 7th June – the wettest day of the year apparently! Jo even managed to stop me stressing about that though , with a lovely text on the morning of our wedding wishing us the best and telling me not to worry about the rain because, “...it makes the knot you tie together stronger.” The venue was everything that we wanted as it was both elegant and modern, which was exactly what I thought my dress was!

What colour scheme/ theme did you choose for your big day?

We wanted our colour scheme to match that of the decor at Close House so we had ivory and gold. We had our bridesmaids in coral to add a splash of summer colour. The coral was a lovely contrast to my gold dress!

Who did you choose as your photographer/ florist/ suppliers?

Scentiments of Monkseaton did our stunning flowers and Pacific was our photographers. We had a fantastic day with our families and friends and we partied until the end, with me savouring every minute wearing my fabulous dress. Thank you YAP team! xxx
