Excited, apprehensive, uncertain! I had no idea what I wanted or what would suit me! But I was really looking forward to the whole experience and having the bride to be treatment!
I remember thinking I loved the first dress that was in the hallway- especially the colour (it was champagne, like the dress colour I chose). I loved the look of the boutique- it looked very special! Seeing the sample dresses on show, beautiful decoration and thank you cards from brides made me feel I had come to the right place.
I really didn’t know what I wanted apart from it being backless. I wanted a wow dress, that would flatter my figure.
Louise initially assisted me as my personal bridal stylist, at my first appointment, and was extremely patient and helpful. I tried on about 6 different styles so I could understand what I wanted and what suited me. We even tried on wedding dresses in different colours so I could have peace of mind on what I preferred. My stylist put me at ease, was very good at pinning in the dress to my figure, and gave great suggestions. Louise took the time to find out more about the wedding itself, we discussed my venue, colour theme and style of the wedding in order to find the perfect dress for an Italian destination wedding.
I had help from Louise and Danni throughout my wedding dress experience. They both made me feel completely at ease. They are really friendly and asked lots of questions about the wedding at each visit. I loved that they made it personal to me and even brought in their own experiences and stories as well! Anytime I would pop into the boutique, or call, all the staff were so lovely and there to help as much as they could. I loved the extra touches like getting my photograph taken and a glass of champagne when I had chosen my dress!
Emotional! I just felt very special in it! I loved how it made me feel and I knew I would feel happy and confident wearing it on my wedding day.
Special from start to finish! The service is perfect, dresses are stunning and being made to feel so important just adds to the excitement, even more, for your wedding day.

• ACCESSORIES •
I had mint coloured shoes- to match the bridesmaids and groomsmen bow ties! My veil, from Y.A.P Bridal Boutique, was long and it looked perfect in the Tuscan setting. I had a vintage champagne and pearl hair clip for my hair.
• FEELINGS •
Considering it was 33 degrees, on the day, I felt really special (and comfortable) in my dress!
I got a lot of compliments on the dress – especially people loving the back and all the detail! It made me feel confident and happy- I felt like an Italian bride!
• VENUE •
The wedding was in Tuscany in Italy. We had a gorgeous Tuscan villa in Il Castagno (close to San Gimignano) and this is where we stayed for 3 nights and where the reception was held. I wanted the wedding to be like a relaxed holiday for everyone. We had 39 people there and because everyone got to know each other the days before, by chilling around the pools, and at the pizza party the day before it meant the wedding day was just lots of friends chatting!
The ceremony was in a beautiful town hall in Certaldo Alto. It is basically like a magical kingdom on the top of a hill!
We wrote our own vows, and had a string duo play our favourite songs- we even had hand picked readings to make it personal to us!
The whole wedding went perfectly! Gorgeous scenery, stunning venues, sunshine, delicious Italian food, and people dancing until 5am! It was everything we wanted and more.

The colour was mint – for bridesmaid dresses, bow ties, my shoes, and incorporated within our handmade decorations and flowers.
There was a travel theme that we designed ourselves. Our initial save the dates and invites were all designed around postcards, with luggage tags and mini passports!
The seating plan was a map of the world- with each table being a different continent. The guest book was vintage postcards, with stamps, that people wrote on and popped into a suitcase! We had a bucket list with a bucket. Travel luggage tags for the place names. Even Jonny’s cufflinks were a map of Durham and a map of Certaldo!

We used a company called Tuscan Dreams to help plan the wedding- Erica was our wedding planner.
A lot of what we sourced was done locally in Tuscany. We went out 8 months prior to the wedding to visit the venues, caterers, see different cars etc. This meant we could pick first hand what we wanted and took the stress away of not going into the wedding completely blind!
Our wedding rings were handmade by a fantastic jeweller in Durham- Gavin Shelley Jewellery Design.
The photographers- Matteo and Dovile, and my hairdressers/make up artist were FANTASTIC! They were based in Certaldo and we met them the few days before the wedding.
We ADORED reading all about your Y.A.P Bridal Journey and both you and your day were absolutely breathtaking... thank you for sharing Reanna, and to Matteo & Dovile for their inspirational imagery xxx
