Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’… –

Matt and I met on a night out celebrating a mutual friends birthday….he wasn’t actually supposed to be going out but had a last minute change of heart!

Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns..

Heading in to Y.A.P I was feeling pretty nervous – I’d been to a few different boutiques beforehand and was feeling underwhelmed and confused by my previous experiences.

On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts?

WOW! Everything about the boutique is extra special – the reception room is gorgeous and has a stunning view, the staff so welcoming and happy, the story behind boutique is heart warming…even the scent of the boutique is unreal!!

Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?

I was really torn between two styles – one which I had always imagined myself wearing – fitted, lace, fishtail….and the other based on a photo I’d seen when I first started googling dresses (the day I got engaged!) which was more floaty and romantic.

How did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?

The consultation with Heather made me realise it was OK to not have one set idea on what I was looking for, and that being torn between two styles did not have to be a problem.

Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received..

Heather was the perfect bridal stylist – she listened to my likes and dislikes, didn’t make me feel pressured in to liking a dress that I wasn’t particularly feeling – she had me at ease during the whole experience. Although Heather was my stylist, Jo, Danni, Sam and Louise all popped through at some stage during my visits and made me feel extra special too.

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?

I was deliberating between two dresses which were completely different styles. I made a decision and thought I had decided on ‘The One’ for me – with a floaty/ romantic number….but after my appointment I did have a doubt in my head as to whether the style was truly me – when I revisited Y.A.P I was just as taken care of by the team in the quest for my ‘Real One’. We went back to basics, and although I was looking to order the dress that I was initially undecided on, but didn’t choose in the first place – I tried on various other dresses in all different styles to make sure I was 100% happy. I did end up going for the dress I was originally deliberating on….and feeling that I was truly happy and content with my choice was amazing!!

Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey

So so happy to be part of the Y.A.P family – I knew from my first visit that I’d get my dress from this boutique no matter what!! From walking through the door for the first time, to the deliberating on whether to change dress style, to our actual wedding day when Jo came to dress me I couldn’t fault a single thing.

Where was your wedding held and what kind of day did you want?

Newton Hall – our only hope for the day was that we had everybody we loved in one room, having as good a day as us.

What colour scheme/ theme did you choose for your big day?

There was no set colour scheme, but the bridesmaids were in navy, as were the groomsmen. My flowers were kept neutral with lots of foliage and cream.

How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown on your wedding day?

The best version of myself – confident, comfortable – a real bride!!
