Quite nervous! I’d already bought one dress elsewhere that didn’t turn out to be right so I was worried that I didn’t have enough time left to find a dress that I really loved.
Such a beautiful shop and full of gorgeous dresses. I think I had the first appointment of the day - so it was lovely and quiet and Sophie instantly put me at ease. I knew pretty much straight away that this would be the boutique I’d buy my wedding dress from.
I didn’t have a specific style in mind, but I knew I wanted to feel both comfortable and glam at the same time! I wanted to look like myself but a bit better than usual!
It was Sophie who helped me initially, and she was wonderful as I’ve said, but Danni and Jo were both amazing too. Every time I walked in to the shop they remembered me and my Mum and made us feel like VIPs, which was really special – every bride to be should feel that way. Since the wedding we have really missed going in to see them! I also want to give a special mention to Anne the seamstress, she was lovely and so talented, I knew I could trust her with my beloved dress!
Sophie asked me questions so she could fully understand my personal style and kind of wedding we were planning. From there she selected a few different dresses for me to try and they were all beautiful. She helped me imagine how I might style the dresses and let me take my time with each one so I could really think about whether or not it was the dress I wanted to say ‘I do’ in.
I spotted my ‘Farah’ gown by Maggie Sottero on the mannequin and thought ‘I have to try that on’ – it was just so pretty. I loved it when I tried it on but wasn’t totally sure, so I went back the next day and asked my mother in law to come with us. It was her reaction that sealed the deal as she loved straight away. The Y.A.P team let me keep the dress on for a while so I could get used to it and the more I looked at it the more I loved it.
I can honestly say it was one of the best, if not the best, parts of my wedding planning experience. The whole Y.A.P team was just so lovely, even when I went into the shop at very busy times they never made me feel rushed and I knew they were only a phone call away I needed anything.

• ACCESSORIES •
My shoes were Jenny Packham from Debenhams and had beading on that matched my dress perfectly (even though I bought them before my dress). My hair piece was from Y.A.P and had a delicate floral design. I also had a faux fur jacket from New Look which Anne altered for me so it had a perfect cropped fit.

Fantastic! Adam’s reaction when he saw me in it was my favourite part of the day and I hope I never forget that moment.
• VENUE •
Our wedding was held at Broadoaks Country House in Troutbeck, near Windermere. We wanted a relaxed and intimate wedding with lots of pretty details and this venue allowed us to have exactly that.
• DETAILS •
We didn’t have a theme or colour scheme, but all of the colours were soft autumnal colours and I had lots of metallic gold and silver details, such as the tea light holders and frames that held the table names. Our table names were mountains because we love the Lake District and its where we met and got engaged.
• SUPPLIERS •
Our photographer was Lisa Aldersley, we loved her natural style and were delighted when received our photos. She was so discreet that we barely noticed she was there and yet she captured the day perfectly.
The flowers were from Valerie Ann’s florist in Windermere. They were so beautiful, I couldn’t have been happier with them.
We completely love your bridal journey with us Rosie thank you for sharing your experience and to Lisa Aldersley for her fabulous shots of your day xxx
Love your Y.A.P Team xxx
