Nervous! Being so petite I was convinced I was never going to find something to suit me.
The YAP boutique is beautiful and very inviting. All of the staff were extremely friendly and Danni made me feel comfortable and relaxed instantly.
I had already tried on quite a few dresses in other shops and I liked pretty much everything that I tried on but I had not had “that feeling” yet. I knew that I wanted to feel relaxed in my dress and most importantly I wanted to feel like me, I didn’t want anything too big and I wanted something quite simple.
Yes – YAP was the only shop that I had had a consultation and it was really nice to vocalise what I wanted from my dress and how I wanted to feel in it rather than what I wanted it to look like! When I walked into the shop my eyes were instantly drawn to a dress that was on the mannequin – after having my consultation with Danni the first thing she said was that she had a dress in mind straight away….the dress on the mannequin and “the one”!!
I completely trusted the YAP girls straight away, not only are they super friendly but they are very passionate about their dresses and I felt like they really knew what they were talking about!
I couldn’t believe it when Danni suggested I try the dress on the mannequin on – I didn’t think it would be in my price range! I knew it was the right dress because it was the only dress that I didn’t want to take off!
My shoes were Louboutins (I knew I could only treat myself to Louboutins on my wedding day!!), my tiara was from Glitzy Secrets and my Veil from Y.A.P. I was adamant that I wasn’t having a veil as I had tried one on and it looked dreadful on me…..when having my fitting with Anne she convinced me to try a veil on and it was just perfect, it finished my bridal look off beautifully.
Perfect! The team made me feel valued and special throughout the whole process. I will certainly be recommending the boutique to my friends when it is their turn!
A couple of extra questions about your day-
How did you feel wearing your amazing gown on your wedding day? My gorgeous Anoushka G gown felt amazing! It ticked all the boxes and my hubby loved it too!
Where was your wedding held and what kind of day did you want? Our wedding was at Middleton Hall in Northumberland – we wanted the day to be relaxed and to showcase our personalities. It was a beautiful setting but also felt like home for the weekend!
What colour scheme/ theme did you choose for your big day? My bridesmaids were in yellow and our flowers were really bright and vibrant. We had a subtle theme of music and our table names were named after our favourite songs.
Who did you choose as your photographer/ florist/ suppliers? Florist – Lavenders Blue (Morpeth), Photographer – Liz Turner, hair – Carli Pearson, Band – Absolute Funk Band (Leeds)
