Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns...

I was really unsure what I wanted and what would suit my shape having never tried any on before. I was hoping for a bridal shop that would take into consideration my feelings and guide me to the right dress.

On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts...

I thought it was a stunning boutique the kind you always imagine yourself in when trying on wedding dresses, and the girls couldn’t have been more welcoming, making me feel at ease immediately. All the photos of the previous Y.A.P brides and the thank you cards really show you how personal it is there. Jo your Mam and Dad would be so proud of what you have created in their memory.

Your Style Ideas...

I had an idea of what I thought might look good on me beforehand, but after trying them on I realised they didn’t suit my shape at all. Thankfully the girls were on hand to guide me to the right shape and style, nothing was ever too much trouble. In the end I went for a more traditional style gown by the designer Mori Lee, which I would never have picked out myself.

Your Consultation to Finding the One...

I felt like the whole team really listened and took in what I was saying about what I wanted and the style of our big day. They take the time to get to know you and your family and make it a really personal service. The most important thing about the consultation is they ask how “you” want to feel and it really makes you think about what’s important to you.

Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received...

I'm not sure I have enough words to describe how amazing Danni and the whole Y.A.P team were. I was treated like one of the family from the first moment and it’s still the same now whenever I see them. I felt really special and never felt like a burden when asking lots of questions or when I was unsure. I still to this day have butterflies when I walk into or even just past the boutique because of the amazing memories I have.

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’...

To be honest at first I didn’t have that “feeling” that most brides talk about and I wondered if that was just the case for some brides. However after losing 3 stone and wanting to slightly change my look - with the help from the lovely Y.A.P ladies and especially Anne the seamstress we creatively tweaked my dream dress and when it was finished I finally had that moment that I had been waiting for. I knew it was my dress and the one I wanted to marry my soulmate in.

Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…

I honestly can’t express my gratitude to the Y.A.P girls for the whole experience, it really was a once in a lifetime and I wish I could do it all again. Being a Y.A.P bride isn’t just about the lead up or even the special day its everything after it too. I still feel like part of one big family and hopefully that feeling will last forever.

Tell us more about your day...

My shoes were gorgeous sparkly little numbers from Ronald Cartier- Debenhams and the perfect accessory to my dress. I got my veil from the lovely Y.A.P Bridal Boutique it was a long simple sheer veil as I wanted to feel bridal but not hide the back of my dress.

I felt like the best version of myself, which was exactly what I wanted. I still wanted to feel like me as that’s who Dan wanted to marry and my dress was just perfect.

We had our wedding at the amazing Newton Hall, we wanted a relaxed day, all about our families coming together, we always wanted to get married outside and thankfully the weather was kind to us and we had our dream ceremony out on the terrace

We had a pastel colour scheme along with a Parisian theme for the tables since that was where Dan popped the question. We tried to incorporate as many personal touches as we could to make our day unique to us and I think it paid off as everyone said it was the most personal wedding they had been to and it was all down to the little finishing touches.

Photographer- Andy Hudson Photography. Andy really was the perfect photographer for us, his relaxed style attracted us straight away and his photographs are truly stunning. He’s a friend not just a photographer

Flowers- Cosmic Flower Shop- Sue was so excited about planning the flowers for our wedding it was infectious, she genuinely cared about what we thought and wanted, nothing was too much trouble and she captured our style perfectly.

Hair- Lisa Cameron – Lisa did an amazing job creating a bridal look for me and beautiful styles for my family

Make up- Dani MUA- Dani was such a calming influence on the day and I can’t thank her enough for helping me to look my best. Everyone had such good things to say about the make up and mine lasted all day with no touch ups

Cake- Love Lily Cakes- Gemma did such a fantastic job with our cake which was a vision in my imagination really, it was so difficult to put across what I wanted but it was like Gemma was inside my head she really made the most stunning creation.

Big loves and thank you's to Sara for sharing her precious memories - you are a wonderful Y.A.P bride xxx

Thank you to Andy Hudson Photography for capturing such gorgeous images of their day xxx
