Step behind the scenes – Buying AW2020– Corona Style!
For You Are Precious Bridal the first few months of a new year are very exciting! We hand-pick the most sensational and iconic styles to bring to our North East bridal haven for our beautiful brides to be for their upcoming wedding year. We are always on the hunt for creative fashion forward designs from each of our world renowned designer labels that we carry – each with their own unique detailing and individuality.
This year with the world being a little upside down we’ve had to adapt our buying ways and create a new unique buying experience with our designers…
Our first stop back in January was Barcelona, where we were luckily able to travel to attend the 2021 collections preview at the Rosa Clara Showroom. We chose some of the most stylish, bohemian vibed bridal gowns from their super chic label ‘Aire Barcelona’. Dresses designed with the modern bride in mind. Expect to see luxurious crepe fabrics, bohemian lace trims in soft silhouettes that exude sophistication and allure.
February brought us our very first trunk show event with the incredible Savin London, where not only our gorgeous team, but also our stunning brides had an exclusive first peek at the all-new ‘Art of Floral’ and ‘Summer Garden’ Collections with the main main himself – Andrey Savin on hand to style our brides looks to perfection! This truly personal touch helped us navigate through exquisite laces, enchanting sparkle, and innovative designs, all encapsulated in utterly timeless, statement gowns.
Next on the agenda – at the end of March was meant to be our annual squad outing to our capital for London Bridal Fashion Week – as a team we were so excited for this as it’s one of the biggest events in our calander year! We couldn’t wait to bring home to the North East more epic styles from our designer’s collections whilst keeping our eyes peeled for any looks and labels that we may be missing in store. However, with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, all designers, buyers, and client’s health and safety were put first and our trip was cancelled…
Nothing quite beats soaking in the atmosphere sitting front row, breathing in all the latest magic as it floats past you down the catwalk, Luckily thanks to some truly inspiring work by Maggie Sottero Designs and Madi Lane Bridal we were able to buy our 2020 Autumn/Winter collections from the comfort of our own homes! Through a virtual catwalk put together by each incredible designer the experience was not lost. Instead we had the most intricate of details such as botanical and tribal laces, fun and flirtatious sparkle tulles, and feminine movement creating silhouettes spoken through so eloquently and with such excitement right in front of our eyes. As a team this really allowed us to understand every gown perfectly, so we could decipher between the most spectacular and unique dresses for our soon to be You Are Precious brides that we know will sit in our rails perfectly!
We cannot wait for our newest girls to join our studio this Summer, and for you and all your lush bride tribes to see the latest magic we are bringing as soon as we are able to re-open our doors safely …
