Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
Lee and I met nearly 8 years ago now, through a mutual friend, at a house warming party. Lee being from Glasgow and myself from Newcastle, it was 2 years before we decided to go on a date but I’m so glad we did! We had such a lovely first date in Edinburgh and we never looked back!
How did you feel before your first bridal appointment? Did you have in mind the style you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
I was a little apprehensive before my first bridal appointment as I didn’t know what to expect and I had very little idea about the style of gown I would like. The girls at Y.A.P suggested I pick out some styles that appeal to me from the Y.A.P Instagram and with our wedding being a winter one, I thought I might like to try long sleeves.
What did you feel like when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
When I found ‘The one’, needless to say, it was nothing like the styles I thought I would like. It also didn’t have long sleeves! However, it’s true what they say, ‘When you know, you know’ and as soon as I tried it on I just knew it was ‘The One’!
Describe how your gorgeous Y.A.P gown made you feel when you tied the knot with your fiancé?
My dress made me feel so glam whilst being comfortable all day! I was so nervous about walking down the aisle, but I felt so good in my dress that, although being centre of attention isn’t really something I relish, it gave me so much confidence!
Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …
Y.A.P was the first bridal appointment I went to and having only booked our wedding 6 months in advance of the wedding date, I was quite anxious I needed find a dress fairly quickly. The girls at Y.A.P put me at ease from the first phone conversation and the appointment was no different!
Kat helped me try on a few of the designs I had picked out, to get an idea about what I did and didn’t like and help inform the ladies at Y.A.P to suggest other styles of dresses. This was so helpful as I think I would have been overwhelmed trying to choose what to try on without their help! The last dress Kat and Brogan picked out was the dress that became my ‘One’ and I can’t thank them enough! The experience from start to finish was just perfect – the best customer service!
Location - Ellingham Hall.
Gown – Libelle ‘Martana’
Accessories - I wore a gorgeous veil also from Y.A.P, diamond earrings and my now husband surprised me on the morning of the wedding with a diamond bracelet.
I would have never imagined a winter wedding but we didn’t want to wait too long to tie the knot. We went for cool colours, white, lilacs and greys with lots of foliage. Ellingham Hall had their Christmas decorations up which really complimented our day. We also had a gorgeous hoop back drop dressed with matching flowers and I sourced a hoop cake stand which our florist dressed with our flowers!
Photographer – Joss Guest Photography
Joss was fantastic! We knew as soon as we met her in her lovely little studio in Morpeth she would be the right photographer for us! She kept us right throughout the day and mingled with our friends and family, getting some fantastic photos! She also managed to turn around our edit in time for Christmas which was so quick! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!
Florist/Styling – Philippas Flowers / Romi Bloom Floral
Philippa provided all of our flowers and foliage for the day. She took my fairly vague brief and ran with it! She captured the light colours; lilac, white and grey and managed to make it so wintery and delicate. All the bouquets were so beautiful. She also dressed my cake and cake stand and it was truly stunning! Ashleigh at Romi Bloom Floral provided us with a hoop back drop and a personalised ‘Mr & Mrs Faulds Neon’ sign, dressed with Philippa’s flowers so it all matched. We were both over the moon with the overall look of the whole venue with the flowers.
Special mentions –
Jim the Piper - As Lee is Scottish, we wanted to make sure we incorporated some Scottish traditions into our day. As well as Kilts, we also had a piper. We found Jim through the Alive network and he was brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was fantastic and to be piped into our wedding breakfast as Mr & Mrs Faulds is a moment I’ll never forget!
Borderland - When we booked our wedding, we knew we would like live music at our evening reception. We came across Borderland via AMV Live and they were amazing! They learnt and played our first dance song and from start to finish we could not fault them – the dance floor was full the whole night!
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal experience?
Amazing, Exciting, Memorable
If you could give one piece of advice for future Y.A.P brides about to embark on their bridal journey, what would it be?
Relax and enjoy the process. It’s so easy to get swept up in the stress of the organisation but have faith, it all will come together in the end and be the most magical day!
Love, Amy and Lee xo
