Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…

Nathan and I met while we were working for the same company. I was moving departments to the team where he worked, I actually said to our manager ‘If you sit me next to the Northern Irish lad I’ll fall in love with him’- 6 weeks later we were off on our first date… 5 and a half years on we are now Mr and Mrs!

How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?

I was anxious about trying dresses for the first time, how would they look on me? Would I ever find the one?! I’d heard so many good things about Y.A.P though, so knew I would be in good hands. I took a few examples of styles of dresses on the Y.A.P Instagram to my appointment so that we had a good starting point to work from. I knew I was to remain open minded and that I would just KNOW when I had found my precious one.

Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?

When I arrived I admit there was a shake in my hands but Brogan (My Bridal Stylist) sat me down and after about 5 minutes of her getting to learn about my dream wedding it was as if she had known me forever.
Brogan pulled the two dresses that I said I would like to try as well as some others to mix it up a bit.
The first dress I put on all my anxieties melted away- it was amazing, I didn’t feel like a child playing dress up I felt like a BRIDE! As I had never tried dresses on before I didn’t want to seem overly keen and so tried on a few more. But my Mam and Brogan could tell ‘You don’t have the smile of that first dress Amy, why don’t you try it back on?’
So I did.
The moment I knew the dress was for me was when Brogan pulled back the curtains and everyone was crying! My mam said ‘Amy your Grandma in heaven wants you to have this dress, listen to the music’ and in the background Y.A.P were playing my Grandma’s favourite song ‘Ava Maria’ I don’t think I could have said yes to the dress any faster- YES to the first ever wedding dress I had tried on.

How did your gorgeous Y.A.P gown make you feel when you tied the knot with your fiancé?

In one word- PERFECT! I couldn’t have imagined feeling any more special than I did walking down the aisle… seeing everyone’s reaction and specifically Nathan’s face.

Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …

The initial consultation was pre-pandemic and the service from the girls was second to none, Brogan was my consultant from the off with Danni and Ruth popping in to see the big reveal.
Due to the pandemic our wedding was postponed and I was only able to take one person with me to collect my dress- my Mam. I won’t lie I was disheartened walking up Northumberland street to the studio knowing I would be collecting my dress and not being able to wear it for over another year. But my sad mood quickly left me once the appointment got started! I wanted to choose a veil however I only had my Mam with me to provide her thoughts. Brogan was so helpful bringing out the different options and talking through them all with me. She really stepped up and was completely a stand in member of the bride squad that day- I can’t thank her enough!
