Our Brides
Anna & Stephen
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
We actually met on Tinder! We went on our first date to the quayside for a few drinks where we stumbled on a pub quiz- big mistake. Stephen decided we should take part…in the end we came last! At least we were both just as rubbish as pub quizzes as each other and from then became the best of friends.
How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?
I was really nervous about trying on gowns. I really don’t enjoy clothes shopping at the best of times so really thought it would be hard to find my dress. I also knew that I wanted to lose weight before my wedding as I wanted to feel more comfortable on my big day so that made it even more of a challenge!
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
Originally I wanted a gown with sleeves and fairly A-Line. I also wanted no sparkle, beads or lace. My dress turned out to be the complete opposite- but I loved it!
How did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?
My bridal consultation was amazing. It was such a lovely atmosphere in the boutique and I felt so comfortable. I could tell the YAP girls were very experienced in what they do as Heather knew what would suit me more than I even did! She encouraged me to have an open mind; if she hadn’t, I would never have found my dress.
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received …
As soon as I arrived at YAP Heather and all the girls greeted me and they made me feel so at ease. Heather took the time to sit with me and talk about what my big day was going to be like and she wanted to know all the details- no matter how small! The YAP girls made me feel like the most important person in the room and were so interested in my big day. They genuinely seemed so happy for me when I found my gown!
How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
When I put my dress on I immediately knew it was the one. I remember telling Heather that my mam, sister and nana would not be expecting me to like it when she opened the curtain for them to see. When I looked in the mirror I remember thinking that I actually looked like a bride and I felt so confident! I tried on one more dress after just to be sure but knew I had to put ‘my’ dress back on! The second time I put it on, Heather got a veil for me which complimented my dress perfectly! I knew then I had found my dream dress and there were lots of happy tears! It was such a magical moment.
How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?
On my wedding day all I wanted to do was put my gown on from the moment I opened my eyes- I couldn’t wait to wear it! I had ordered a size small 7 months earlier and felt pleased (and relieved!) that I had managed to fit into it! When I put it on I had one of the most amazing reactions from my dad and my bridesmaids! My dad was in tears- he never cries! When arriving at the church and seeing Stephen turn to watch me walk down the aisle with tears in his eyes it was the most magical feeling! It was also pretty good when we left the church as husband and wife and he told me that I looked beautiful and he couldn’t believe that I was his wife!
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey?
Three words I’d use to describe my YAP experience would be magical, relaxed and unforgettable.
