Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…

David and I met through a blind date. Our best friends were in a relationship and they decided we would be a perfect match, mainly because of our shared love of Disney! I was 17 and it was David’s 18th Birthday on the day we met. We met for a coffee in Starbucks with mutual friends and it all blossomed from there.

How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?

I was nervous because I didn’t know how long it was going to take to find ‘the dress’ or if I even would get that ‘feeling’. But I remember just trying to take everything in and be excited because it was a special moment that I wouldn’t be able to get back.

Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?

I didn’t really have a style in mind. I just wanted a dress that once I put it on, I didn’t want to take it off! I hoped that I would have the feeling of just ‘knowing’ that everyone talks about.

Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …

I had an amazing experience with ‘YAP Bridal’. Once I found my dress, I then ended up getting two beautiful bridesmaid dresses from the Motee Maid range. The girls could not have been more helpful and were so accommodating to my two bridesmaids and Mam who accompanied me on every visit. They always made sure we were comfortable and were reassuring and helpful when it came to make tough decisions!

How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?

I tried on around 8 dresses on my first visit to YAP which was my first visit to any dress shop and although they were all so beautiful, I just didn’t get that feeling that everyone says you get. Even once I had tried on my dress, I ended up going to try on other dress’s because I just had to be sure that it was right. But after visiting one other shop, I couldn’t stop thinking about my dress. I went back to the shop and tried it on again. All I wanted was for David to see me in it right there and then. I just remember one of the girls saying ‘You have to go with your heart and not with your head’ and that’s when I said ‘yes to the dress!’. It was just perfect. It wasn’t what I know David would have expected but I knew he would love it as much as I did. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect dress for our beautiful day.

How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?

Our wedding day was like a dream. Everyone says to take in every moment and although it went by so quickly, I took in every second and I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect dress. I felt like a true princess. I felt, elegant, beautiful and it was everything I wanted for our wedding. Two of my highlights was when it got the seal of approval from my Dad and David who both slightly teared up when they first saw me. Those are two special moments I’ll never forget.
