Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns…
I was a mixture of emotions, excited to try on some gowns but nervous about the choices available. I’m very indecisive and worried about choosing ‘the one’ as there would be no going back!
On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts…
Y.A.P really is a ‘boutique’. The shop is gorgeous and has such a lovely atmosphere, a really special feeling to it. I had visited on recommendation and knew I’d came to the right place.
Your Style Ideas…
I tried very hard not to have my mind set on any particular style or designer as I wanted to have an open mind, however, there were some things I didn’t want. I knew I wanted my dress to be lightweight so I would be comfortable. Nothing too ‘in fashion’ as I wanted a timeless gown which would link into my vintage theme.
Your Consultation to Finding the One…
The consultation was more of an informal girly chat. The Y.A.P girls really know how to put you at ease while figuring out what you want. I was asked about my day, the venue, the theme/colours etc so they could understand more. My stylist really took the stress away and I was excited to look though the gowns with her.
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received…
Following the consultation, my stylist really had a vision of what I was looking for. Without realising, all the dresses I chose were the same designer, however none were quite there….she then disappeared and came back with another gown which became the chosen one. It was perfect and combined everything that I loved about the other dresses. I never felt rushed as they really understand what a big decision it is.
How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’…
I got butterflies. I cried. And most of all, I could picture myself getting married in it. It’s hard to describe the feeling you get when you find your dress, its sooo exciting and emotional but you just know. I didn’t want to take it off as it was perfect. My gown was by Maggie Sottero and I still love it to this day.
Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…
I loved hearing the story behind Y.A.P. The girls are great,Jo has an amazing team. I loved every part of my journey and actually miss coming to the boutique! I was seen mainly by Jo and Danni who are amazing but the whole team was so welcoming every time we came or called the store and nothing is too much trouble. I felt really looked after and my gown was perfect when I collected it. Anne who took care of the alterations was also great and even altered my bridesmaid dresses too. She did a fantastic job and really knows what she’s doing.
A day full of pastel prettiness and vintage touches for Y.A.P Bride Deb. Filled with lots of laughter this lovely pair were married at St.Andrew’s Church in Sunderland and continued the celebrations at The Quayside Exchange. Simply Gorgeous.
