Our Brides
Keely & Phil
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
Phil and I met through mutual friends after I moved to the North East for work. However rather unromatically we met on a boozy pub crawl and neither of us can actually remember which pub we met in!!
How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?
Anxious! I know this is the bit that every bride is supposed to be most excited about but I was so nervous and worried that I wouldn’t find a dress to suit me! Several of my colleagues found their dresses at Y.A.P so I decided to book my first appointment with the boutique – I knew I didn’t need to look anywhere else after that first appointment because of how comfortable I was made to feel!
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
I wanted to be quite open minded in case what I had in mind didn’t suit me! But I knew I was wearing a flower crown so I tended to pick quite simple designs with a bit of a boho vibe.
How did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?
I was immediately made to feel at ease. I explained all the things I was worried about and we talked about any ideas I had. We picked out a great selection of dresses to try which helped me narrow down the best style for me.
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received …
Louise was absolutely amazing! I was super anxious and worried I’d be totally overwhelmed by the experience but the whole appointment was so relaxed and most importantly fun! She helped me realise what part of each dress I liked/suited me and never rushed me. Brogan and Heather were amazing when I came to collect my dress and choose a veil. Everyone at Y.A.P helped me feel so confident and special.
How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
Surprised! Louise persuaded me to try on one last dress based on what I’d liked so far. It was one I would never have picked out myself – I almost didn’t try it on but I loved it! I’m such an indecisive person, I knew I wouldn’t be able to decide at my first appointment. Louise suggested I come back for a second time with a clear head. In the weeks between appointments I kept looking at my dress, and everything else I tried on I compared to it. As soon as I put it back on that second time it felt totally right!
How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?
I felt amazing. And so comfortable which was important to me – I wanted to be able to be on that dancefloor all night!
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey?
Supportive, special, fun!!
