Our Brides
Laura and Dan
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
Dan and I met at Secondary School 11 years ago. We are both each other’s first love- childhood sweethearts and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We decided to get married on the day we made it ‘official’… Making it 10 years together on the day we tied the knot. It was such a special day with memories we’ll cherish forever.
How did you feel before your first appointment to try on gowns?
I’d trawled the internet looking at styles and watched countless episodes of ‘say yes to the dress’. In my head, I knew what style I wanted; it was just the fear of never finding it that made me a little apprehensive. Y.A.P was my first bridal shop experience. It was a very last minute ‘let’s go try on gowns’ as my best friend was emigrating to Australia. Therefore, she wouldn’t get to see me try on dresses, or prep for the wedding and she really wanted to feel a part of it.
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
Yes. I knew I wanted lace, a mermaid/fishtail shape and capped/thicker sleeves.
How did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?
Heather listened to my do’s and don’ts. She asked me questions to get a feel of the style I wanted and she guided me through the process with ease. The consultation process was relaxed and not pushy at all (which is what I originally thought dress shopping would be like).
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received …
Heather took my ideas down and immediately picked out a dress like I’d described. She said I was extremely lucky as the dress I’d described to her had just arrived instore and no one had tried her on yet. It was like it was meant to be. It was like she knew exactly what I wanted, she wanted to get a feel for my wedding style. It was really like she was trying her best to help me find the perfect dress to match my special day.
How did you feel when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
She was the first dress I’d tried on! It was everything I’d described and everything I wanted. The feeling you get in your heart is something I can’t really describe. You just know. I didn’t want to take her off. I was beaming and walking around the shop like I was the only one there. It made me excited to get married. It made me feel pretty, comfortable and special. My bridal party wanted me to try on other styles just incase, so I did. After 4 more dresses, nothing compared to the first dress. I kept comparing every detail on the other dresses to ‘The one’. That’s when you know it’s the one.
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey?
Precious, Personal and Sweet.
How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown when you tied the knot?
I felt wonderful. Every time I tried her on, I still had the same feeling in my stomach, like the first moment in the studio when I knew it was the one. My dress made me feel amazing.
