Our Brides
Louise and Michael
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
We met just under six years ago when Michael joined the company I worked for.
Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns..
I was really relaxed (but extremely excited), I am very girly when it comes to all pretty / sparkly dresses, so I was totally in my element. I have always loved looking at wedding dresses from being a small child.
On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts..
Amazing, it is such a beautiful, spacious boutique with an extremely welcoming team. It is a real unique service which you receive, the team genuinely want to get to know all about you and your plans for the big day. The dresses which are on offer are amazing, you could literally be looking all day.
Did you have in mind the style and look you wanted from your gown? If so what was it..
I thought I knew which dress I wanted, however when I tried it on it wasn’t me. Sam already picked up what my style was from our conversation and with her help we picked out beautiful gowns. By the third gown I knew that this was ‘the dress’
How did your consultation during your appointment help to find the perfect dress for you?
Sam really got to understand what type of dresses I loved (and also what wasn’t my type of dress). We discussed the type of wedding day I was going to be having so she had a clear picture on what the day was going to be like
Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received..
Amazing, I couldn’t of asked for a better service, it was so personalised each member of the team are a credit to Y.A.P.
How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
Sam picked out ‘the one’ and when they were lined up I was just drawn to it, I just fell in love with all the sparkle. From the moment I put it on, I just knew that this was the dress. There were a couple of other dresses for me to try on, but I just had my heart on it, and stopped trying any more gowns on.
Where was your wedding held and what kind of day did you want?
Our Wedding was held at ‘The Parlour at Blagdon’. I wanted an enchanted wedding venue which would be easy for our guests to get to and this venue certainly offered it, we couldn’t have wished for the most perfect day.
What colour scheme/ theme did you choose for your big day?
We opted for a travel theme wedding as everyone that knows us know that we love to travel. Our wedding cake was not your average wedding cake, we decided on a two-tier suitcase cake which was brilliant. All our table names represented a place which we have visited, the top table was Mauritius which is very precious to us as this is where Michael proposed. Although the table names were locations, we tried to have the location to fit in with our guests on that table.
I love everything vintage, so we had a hint of vintage – nothing too modern.

How did you feel in your amazing Y.A.P gown on your wedding day?
Perfect, I loved trying the gown on as part of my fittings, so I literally couldn’t wait to be able to wear it all day.
