Our Brides
Marie and Steve
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
I met Steve in October 2015 after joining the University of Bath Skydiving Club. He was already a member and volunteered to drive us newbies to the dropzone for a weekend of training ahead of our first ever skydives. Steve was also jumping that weekend and just so happened to be in the plane with me for my first ever jump – I can distinctly remember him giving me a fist bump and a cheeky smile and the next thing I remember is free-falling… it sounds cringey but we’ve been falling for each other ever since!
How did you feel before your first bridal appointment? Did you have in mind the style you wanted from your gown? If so, what was it?
It was a real mix of excitement and nerves. I’ve always been adventurous and tomboy-ish so dresses aren’t in my comfort zone, and I felt a little bit daunted about how to select a wedding dress – it’s not something I had ever put any thought into and I didn’t know what all the cuts and styles meant. That’s where Y.A.P. Bridal really helped me, they asked loads of questions to find out about my personality and how I wanted to feel on the day, and were able to find me the dress I was looking for before I even knew it myself!
What did you feel like when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
I think you can tell from the reaction of everyone else in the room…I brought along three friends to Y.A.P. and when I tried on the dress and the curtain opened, their gasps and ‘awws’ were priceless. I knew that was the one.
Describe how your gorgeous Y.A.P gown made you feel when you tied the knot with your fiancé?
It felt like a dream, like I was the luckiest girl in the world marrying my best friend and Prince Charming. Although we actually had a Viking wedding ceremony (said our vows holding an oath ring then drank champagne out of a Viking horn), so maybe it was more Game of Thrones than fairytale!
Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …
It was amazing from start to finish. All the girls were so welcoming and made me feel really comfortable. They were so attentive and I genuinely can’t think of a single improvement to offer. I don’t live in the North East anymore which could have complicated things, but the girls were great at communicating with me and then kept my dress safe and sound until I was free to collect it.
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal experience?
Friendly. Professional. Faultless.
