Tell us how you felt before your first appointment to try on gowns…

Nervous! I was unhappy with my weight at the time and felt like no Bridal Boutique would have anything I liked in a size I’d be able to try on. I’d convinced myself it would be an uncomfortable experience and had just about talked myself into ordering a dress off the Internet when I finally let my best friend talk me into making an appointment at Y.A.P.

On arriving at Y.A.P Bridal Boutique what were your initial thoughts…

My first appointment was at the original boutique and I just remember feeling this sense of relief as soon as I walked in. The boutique was absolutely gorgeous and the dresses in the window and on display were just beautiful. The interior was so elegant: I knew from that first moment that I wanted to be a Y.A.P bride.

Your Style Ideas…

I didn’t have an exact style in mind but, as we were having a destination wedding in the Italian Lakes, I knew I wanted something floaty and summery which would go with our casual theme. I also wanted it to have a full back and sleeves…. oh, and the ‘wow’ factor!

Tell us about your bridal stylist and the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received…

Danni really knows her stuff: the dress she suggested after the consultation was the first one I tried on and nothing else really matched up to it after that! She really listened to what I said and was careful not to show me dresses out of my budget. Any thoughts I’d had about feeling self conscious and uncomfortable went out the window: I loved every minute.

Your Consultation to Finding the One…

The lovely Danni put me at ease from the moment I walked into the boutique. She really took the time to talk to me about what kind of wedding we were having and how I wanted to look and feel on the big day. After the consultation, Danni said to me ‘I have the perfect dress in mind for you’ …. She was absolutely right, that was the dress I ended up buying.

How did you feel when you found your dream gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’…

There wasn’t any tears or shrieks of joy but I knew I’d found ‘the one’ when I didn’t want to take it off! The dress was actually strapless originally but Danni used her background in fashion to help me visualise how it could be transformed into my perfect dress with a covered back and sleeves like I wanted and I loved the idea that I would end up with a gown that was totally unique to me. That’s where the seamstress, Anne, came in: she really worked her magic and helped turn an already gorgeous Diane Harbridge dress into my dream gown.

Talk to us about your overall Y.A.P Bridal Journey…

Every single part of my Y.A.P experience was incredible: the old boutique was beautiful but the new boutique is absolutely breath taking: the team are amazing and the dresses and accessories are just stunning. I wish I could do it all over again!

Magnificent scenery… Stunning Y.A.P Bride with her Groom… a day filled with close family and friends, fantastic Italian foods, wines and a relaxed elegance in the air. Selina wore an amazing Diane Harbridge gown with delicate bespoke touches to create the most perfect look for her romantic big day on Lake Orta in Northern Italy… Simply Dreamy!
