Our Brides
Suzanne and Stephen
Tell us how you and your partner met. Your ‘love story’…
Stephen and I met through work. I had just moved to Newcastle for work and in my second week he returned to work from holidays, I still remember meeting him for the first time! We were friends for a long time first before we finally admitted that the connection was too strong to ignore.
How did you feel before your first bridal appointment? Did you have in mind the style you wanted from your gown? If so what was it?
Nervous! I have so many body hang ups, and never quite managed to get into any sort of wedding diet. So I was convinced everything was going to look awful on me. Being short and curvy, I just didn’t think long, white dresses were for me. I had no idea where to start!
What did you feel like when you found your precious gown & how did you know it was ‘The One’?
I’d actually come back for a second look at a completely different dress, The Alika gown. But in between the first try and the second look I’d built up the courage that I wanted something fitted and more clean looking. I was still in love with the top half of the dress though. I explained this to Brogan, thinking that there was nothing that fitted this description. Whilst I was re-trying Alika, Brogan did her thing and brought me the Haisley dress. The top half was just like the Alika, with the illusion cuts in the sides, but the bottom half was fitted. I had a feeling as soon as I saw it and once it was on that was it. I felt amazing, but I was also so comfortable and I felt like myself. I booked in again for a second look at Haisley and that was it, loved her even more the second time and the search was over.
Describe how your gorgeous Y.A.P gown made you feel when you tied the knot with your fiancé?
I have never felt so beautiful. I was so excited to put the dress on, and I never wanted to take it off. The Italien crepe was so soft to touch and one of the most comfortable things I have ever worn. I felt like a Hollywood superstar, I really did.
Tell us about the ‘You Are Precious’ service you received along your bridal journey …
Second to none. There was never any pressure. I always felt like the girls just wanted the best for me, even if that didn’t mean buying a dress at Y.A.P. But Brogan just put me so at ease, I really was out of my comfort zone with the dresses, they are so beyond any kind of dressing up I have ever done! And she really boosted my confidence to go for the fitted dress, as soon as she saw me in Haisley she said ‘I just love you in a fitted dress.’ That really stuck with me and helped to affirm for me to go for it, despite my insecurities!
What three words would you use to describe your overall Y.A.P Bridal experience?
Unforgettable, magical, uplifting
